Healing Properties:

Spirulina: Spirulina is a whole food and a complete protein source. It was used as a daily food supplement by the Aztecs until the 16th century. You can ow buy Spirulina in tablet, flake or powder form.

Linseed: In seed form, linseed (or flaxseed) can be used to assist treatment of ailments such as colds, chest infections and constipation. Rich in Omega 3 oils, this seed is also used to boost vitality and energy.

Raw cacao: Rich in antioxidants and a good source of magnesium, raw cacao is a wholesome substitute for cocoa or chocolate.

Dates: A healthy and vitamin rich alternative to sugars and sweeteners, dates are a good source of fiber.

For the balls:

1 cup ground raw linseed/ flaxseed

1 cup dates, chopped (soaked overnight)

1 cup ground raw almonds (pre-soaked for three hours)

2 tablespoons Spirulina powder

3 tablespoons Carob or Cacao powder

2 tablespoons Agave syrup

1-2 tablespoons Tahini

To roll:

Sesame seeds and desiccated coconut


Combine all ingredients using a blender until it forms a paste like consistency.

Add or limit the amount of Spirulina, Agave, Carob and Tahini according to taste.

Mix the sesame seeds and coconut on a plate

Roll the paste into small balls, coat in the sesame/ coconut mixture and refrigerate.

Will keep for up to 10 days in the fridge.
