When consumed first thing in the morning in a cup of warm water, lemon and ginger act as a metabolic stimulant and liver cleanser – there really is no better way to start the day. Once the tummy and organs have been warmed, the nutrients in this breakfast tonic are more easily absorbed by the body, making it the perfect liquid chaser!

Healing Ingredients:

Goji berries: A source of calcium, potassium, iron and zinc, goji berries are also high in Vitamin C and B2. Gojis are more easily digested when soaked for an hour or two, and can be added to smoothies, juices, salads or granolas as a nutrient-rich garnish.

Lemon: Useful in assisting with the flow of bile, lemon taken first thing in the morning cleanses the mouth, disloges phlegm and expels wind from the digestive tract. It aids digestion and is a powerful antibacterial. The Vitamin C levels in lemon also assist with calcium absorption.

Ginger: In my mind, ginger fixes pretty much anything. But medicinally, it is best known as a digestive aid. Use ginger in your cooking to aid your body in the processing of processed or heavy foods.
